Man kidnaps himself, demands KES 30M from parents

Nyeri - A man in Nyeri found himself on the wrong side of the law after a self-crafted kidnap failed to take place.
The 21-year-old disappeared from his home in Gitathini, Tetu, where he lives with his parents before he started sending messages to his father saying that kidnappers were demanding KES30 million ransom.
The anxious parents reported the matter to Nyeri police station and police swung into action.

They managed to track his phone, only to find the kidnapper-cum-kidnapee going about his usual business at a bus stop in Tetu.
He was arrested and locked up waiting court trial for extortion.
