18 November 2015, 21:35 Joseph Njung'eh

Nairobi - A 44-year-old man has been handed a 10-year jail term by a Murang’a court after he was found guilty of biting another man’s private parts leaving him with grievous injuries.

Resident Magistrate Jesse Masiga sent John Kimani to prison after he found him guilty of attacking and seriously injuring Joseph Ngumi on August 13, 2014 at Mukumi village in Murang’a County.

In his testimony, the complainant told the court that on the material day, he met Kimani in a local bar where he demanded to be bought a drink.

Ngumi narrated that the accused got annoyed when he refused to buy him beer saying he went on to insult and threaten to attack him.

“At around 10pm when I was heading home, I found Kimani on the way and he started beating me and when I fell down, he unzipped my trouser and bite my gentiles with his teeth,” Ngumi further told the court.

“My private parts were almost chopped off by Kimani and I had to scream for help alerting negbhours to rescue me,” he added.

He was rushed to Murirajas hospital for treatment, court heard.

In his defense Kimani said he did not meet the complainant in the bar as alleged and was instead attending other chores in Thika on the mentioned date.

He accused the complainant for conspiring to have him arrested since there was bad blood between the two families.

The magistrate said the prosecution had proved case beyond any doubt that the accused committed the heinous offense.

Kimani was however given 14 days to appeal the ruling if was not satisfied with the judgement.
