Man flees after stabbing his teacher girlfriend

Kirinyaga - A 25-year-old female teacher was hospitalized at Kirinyaga County Referral hospital after her boyfriend stabbed her several times using a knife.
Christine Wangui sustained serious injuries following the attack that happened at Kanjuu village in Gichugu sub-county.
She assailant, who works at local quarries as stonemason, attacked her because she ended their two-year relationship.
Wangui said she estranged the man after suspecting that he was abusing drugs though they were planning to marry.

She said that the man ambushed her at a bedroom in her mother’s house when he visited the unsuspecting family.
“He had a grudge. He found my mum preparing some foods and inquired where I was. He was told am in the bedroom. He asked my mother to get him some green maize in the nearby garden and that is when he rushed to my bedroom and stabbed me,” she narrated.
Wangui said she reported the matter at Kianyaga police station and police have launched search for the man who fled to an unknown destination.
She was rescued by neighbours who responded to her distress calls and rushed her to hospital in critical condition.
