Man flees after killing father
27 March 2016, 17:46
Nyeri - A middle-aged man has gone underground after the death of his father in Lachuta village Kieni West sub-county, Nyeri.
The man who is a small scale farmer was said to have a tendency of beating his ageing father while under influence of alcohol.
Neighbours said they were used to regular screams from the homestead but on Saturday night it was worse since it was more prolonged.
On Sunday morning, a neighbour John Nderitu said the man instead raised alarm which prompted the neighbours to rush at the home.
They took the old man, who was tailor, to hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The neighbours have since vowed to lynch the man in revenge though he has escaped to unknown destination.
However, area OCPD John Kemboi said police were yet to get more clear details about the incident.
