Nairobi - A woman has sought refuge at a police station in Laikipia County after she was allegedly assaulted by a man for turning down his request for a sexual relationship.
The mother of two said she engaged the man in a fight after he arrived at her house and allegedly attempted to force himself on her.
She alleged that the man had been making sexual advances to her for some time which she claimed to have declined to accept making the man angry to the extent of verbally threatening her with dire consequences.
She said during the physical confrontation with the man who had not yet reported the matter to the police station, she bit off his lower lip with her teeth after realizing he was determined to give her a ruthless beating.
“Although the man was using his bare hands to beat me, nobody responded to my loud screams for help as my children were not around during the incident,” she narrated.
Police said the woman had earlier reported that there was a man disturbing and threatening her adding that in another recorded incident, the man was reported for allegedly beating one of woman’s children under unclear circumstances.
“I suspected he decided to beat my child as a way of provoking me into a fight after I had refused to accept his advances,” the woman noted.
