Luos will not vote for Joho, MP warns

Nairobi - Luos will not vote for Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho in 2017, an MP has warned.
Nyali MP Hezron Awiti has told Governor Joho to forget
votes from members of the Luo community in Mombasa, saying that despite
his support for CORD leader Raila Odinga, he had done little to
win the community’s supporters.
Joho, he said had antagonised the community members and ignored their interests.
" Joho has made promise after promise to our community members who have supported him vocally in the last few years, but he has yet to make anything worthwhile in return," Awiti told News24.
He warned Joho to expect a tough ride come 2017.
" How can he purport to be a friend to Raila and campaign for him
yet he does not care about members of the Luo community in
Mombasa? I am telling Joho to forget the Luo vote in this county,” he added.
He said mechanics who had been operating
in Mvita and hawkers were evicted and are yet to be given any
alternative place to operate from.
Joho faces serious competition from Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar come the 2017 polls.
