Nairobi - Luhyas are fed up with CORD leader Raila Odinga, an ODM MP has said.
Mumias MP Ben Washiali says that the current mass defections of key politician in the region from ODM as well as the continued rebellion seen in the region during the trip by the CORD leader is an indication that the tide has changed for Raila.
He insists that the time is ripe for Raila to consider letting someone else take the mantle.
" The tide has changed. Raila was an almost untouchable man in western Kenya. Now it is different. There needs to be change," the MP who has in recent times supported Musalia Mudavadi says.
The MP has called on all Luhyas to support the move to have one united Luhya vote come the 2017 polls.
" It is time we had our own Presidential candidate. We have been the supporting cast for way too long and that must change," he added.
A number of key ODM MPs have already decamped from senior positions within ODM and others are planning to do so in the coming months.
