Isiolo - Police in Isiolo County have impounded a lorry carrying 130 Ethiopia nationals who are believed to be in Kenya illegally.
Police also arrested the owner of the lorry, driver and loader.
A senior police officer working at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations said the lorry was intercepted along Isiolo-Marsabit road.
The officer said 500 Ethiopians who had no legal documents had been arrested in the last two weeks as police work to eradicate the syndicate that benefits from illegal migration.
He further noted that the smugglers were demanding KES 10 000 from each migrant said to be on transit to South Africa in search of jobs.
He said the migrants and smugglers are in police custody and would be arraigned in court soon.
