Nairobi - A local TV presenter is nursing her injuries after being beaten silly by her boyfriend.
Elizabeth Irungu, who has formerly worked for the Youth TV and has also acted on Citizen TV's Tahidi High was beaten by her boyfriend Jaffar Shariff.
She claims that she confronted him over infidelity concerns but he rebounded and hit her several times on her face, bursting her lip and injuring her on the face.
" A swollen eye and burst lip is what I get from loving a man. Jaffar Cadey Shariff. I hate you," she said in her statement.
It was not yet clear whether she has reported the issue to police as efforts by News24 to reach her were not fruitful.
Assault cases have been rampant in Kenya in recent times, with CORD Co-Principal Moses Wetangula complaining that his wife assaulted him.
