Linturi: Sonko will beat Kidero hands down in Nairobi gubenatorial race
09 August 2016, 15:13
Nairobi - Igembe South MP, Mithika Linturi has said Nairobi County Senator Mike Sonko is the only person who can unseat Governor Evans Kidero if he vies for the seat in the 2017 polls.
Speaking in an interview in Nairobi, Linturi said Sonko has gained a lot of popularity in Nairobi and would be the best candidate to take on Kidero.
“If you run Sonko against Kidero in 2017 in the governor's race, Sonko will have won by 10am,” Linturi said.

He dismissed reports that there were splits in Jubilee after a section of MPs in the coalition endorsed Water Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa as their preferred candidate for the gubenatorial seat.
“There's no split in Jubilee over CS Wamalwa's candidature. Mark you Nairobi belongs to all of us. You can bring anyone from anywhere in Kenya to run. We have no preferred candidate anywhere in this country. We are open to competition,” the MP said.
However, Sonko has maintained that he is ready to face anyone in the race including Wamalwa and Kidero, but called for free and fair nomination of candidates ahead of the polls.
