Leave ODM in peace, Raila tells rebels
04 July 2016, 17:35
Nairobi - CORD leader Raila Odinga has told MPs seeking to leave the Orange Democratic Party ODM to do so and leave them in peace.
In a veiled attack at rebels in the party including Budalang’i MP Ababu Namwamba, Raila says that there will always be those who want to leave and others who come in.
He added that no one was immune to leaving as it was a life process that has to be fulfilled.
“There cannot be problems because a few people are unhappy,” he said.
He said that he was happy to listen to problems that party members have but that they must be respectful and done within the laws that govern the party.
“This is a democracy but we also have rules. There are ways to solve grievances that must not be disruptive,” he added.
The statement comes amidst the move by Namwamba and Funyula MP Paul Otuoma to quit the party’s top organs over the weekend, citing frustration from other forces.
