Nairobi - Leave and never come back, an ODM MP has told defecting leaders to the Jubilee Coalition.
According to Malindi MP Willy Mtengo, some of the leaders are of no value to the party as they are defecting because they know they will not win nominations for the 2017 elections.
He gave the example of Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya who has defected to the Jubilee Party because he has been denied direct nominatins in the CORD Coalition.
" Those that defect because they are afraid of losing the nominations can go and not come back. We do not want leaders who are not committed to the party," he told News24.
He added that the electorate will teach those Coastal leaders defecting to Jubilee a thorough lesson come the polls.
" This is a CORD area. Those that are moving away know it and will be taught a lesson come the elections," he added.
A number of leaders from the region have stated that they will join the Jubilee Coalition come the 2017 elections and have already stopped attending ODM functions.
