Kuria's 4 minute meeting with Raila
21 June 2016, 13:07
Nairobi - The two leaders met and spoke for a few minutes, prompting talks of peace between the two rivalling politicians.
In the aftermath of Friday's bail hearing for hate speech accused politicians at the Milimani Law Courts in Nairobi, Kuria met Raila for a few minutes and spoke about what had happened earlier.
" They spoke for a few minutes, shook hands and departed," a source close to the former Prime Minister told News24.
A day afterwards, Kuria offered reconciliatory remarks towards the CORD leader.
" There is no need to fight. We can all agree and disagree in the right manner and I apologize to the former PM," he said.
Raila had also earlier publicly agreed to let Kuria's remarks, stating that he would assassinate Raila slide.
" It was not something to hold a grudge against and I forgive him," he said.
It remains to be seen whether the truce between the two will hold and for how long.
