'Kuria, Waititu named in Jubilee dialogue team'

04 June 2016, 10:10 William Korir

Nairobi - Could Moses Kuria and Ferdinand Waititu make the Jubilee team for the IEBC dialogue talks with CORD? It seems they could.

According to Deputy President William Ruto, going by the criteria with which CORD chose their team, then the two fit the bill perfectly.

The DP speaking Friday, had a go at the CORD team for the to be talks, and especially with the choice of Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama and Nominated MP Mishi Mboko who he referred to as incapable of holding any meaningful talks.

" If you look at the CORD team, with Muthama and Mboko in it, then we are just as inclined to put Moses Kuria and Ferdinand Waititu in our team," he mocked the CORD choices.

He said that with CORD using the likes of Muthama and Mboko, they had shown that they are not ready for any talks.

" Your choices represent your thoughts and with those who have been chosen, they have clearly chosen not to talk," he added.

Ruto though insisted that there will be dialogue, though only in Parliament.

" There will be talks but in Parliament. The rest is impossible," he added.

CORD are seeking talks outside Parliament over the state of the IEBC, which they say needs changes before the 2017 General Elections.
