Nakuru - Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) officials are expected to hold a national delegates' conference in December to discuss the character of its chairman, Mudzo Nzili.
KNUT Nakuru branch chairman, Njau Kuria said that Nzili betrayed the spirit of solidarity when he went for the State House meeting and members want him reprimanded and suspended for undermining the union's leadership structure and functions.
Speaking Wednesday in Nakuru town, Njau said that the national governing council of the union will meet early December to deliberate on the issue before convening a national delegate’s conference for the final decision.

“KNUT’s constitution allows members to reprimand any official who violates the laws governing the union and thus we are going to meet to discuss the character of our chairman which has been compromised following the recent happenings,” said Njau.
Njau said that Nzili will be given an opportunity to defend himself before the governing council before any decision is made.
“We must give him a fair hearing and let him explain what happened and what prompted him to take that action without the approval of the governing council and after that we will present the case to the delegates to make the final decision,” he said.
