Nairobi - Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) Nakuru branch officials has issued a 14 days ultimatum to the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) to release house allowances to over 500 teachers.
Branch Executive secretary Mungai Muhia indicated that, since the harmonization of house allowances in July last year, the teachers have not been receiving them and their grievances are ignored.
Muhia pointed that the teachers affected are from Nakuru Town East and Nakuru Town West which are in nakuru municipality.
The pointed out that, the error is across all grades and hence calling upon TSC to act in haste before the issue moves out of hand.
Muhia said that some schools affected includes Mburu Gichua, Ngala, Mogoon, Kilelwet, Pangani special, Barut among others.
Mungai pointed out that, failure for TSC to act all affected teachers will abscond duties and camp at Nakuru county TSC Directors office till their issues are addressed.
Muhia indicated that, the contradiction is not due to CBA or mapping but TSC negligence and lack of respect to teachers who continue to suffer.
