Kikuyu elders back Peter Kenneth for 2022

Nairobi - The debate on whether DP William Ruto will win Kikuyu votes come the 2022 polls continues, with some in the know saying that they will go to Peter Kenneth instead.
According to sources close to News24, Kikuyu elders have already identified Kenneth as their next candidate for 2022.
" Kenneth is not going for the Presidency in the coming elections and is instead focusing on the 2022 polls where he will get support from Kikuyu elders and the community at large," the source stated.
Well known Political commentator Mutahi Ngunyi was also of the opinion that Kikuyus will not vote for Ruto come 2022.
" Historically Kikuyus have always voted for their own and that will not change come 2022 unless something drastic happens to the psyche of the community," he stated.
As was News24's very own Michael Njenga.
" It is as it is. Kikuyus will vote for their own. That is the truth and Ruto I'm very much sure knows that changing that fact is going to be difficult," he added.
Kenneth has been keeping a low profile ever since the 2013 elections ended in defeat to President Uhuru Kenyatta and is thought to be the outright favourite to succeed him.
