Kidero: I deserve re-election in 2017

25 January 2016, 16:50 William Korir

Nairobi - Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero says he deserves re-election in the 2017 General Elections for the job he has done to lift the city.

Speaking in Nairobi, Kidero said that he is the right person to lead the city to prosperity and that there are various sectors the city that have improved since he came into the picture as Governor.

Kidero said his government has improved security in Nairobi noting that the crime rate currently stands at 2 to 4 per day compared to 50 to 56 crimes per day in 2013.

He also stated that he had improved service delivery by getting rid of cartels that surround County Hall.

The Governor urged Nairobi residents to appreciate the gains realized through the county government and support its efforts to make Nairobi a better place to live, work and invest in.

“Great things are happening and will continue happening, It may not be as fast as it should, but good things are happening in Nairobi City County,” stated Kidero.

Kidero is facing competition come the 2017 polls from current Senator Mike Mbuvi Sonko and he is thus keen on drumming home his support in the city.

" Not everything is smooth and I believe you all know that. However, the positives are plenty," he added.

Kidero will vie to retain his seat on a CORD Coalition ticket of which he says he is firmly a part of.

" I am in CORD to stay. There is no doubt," he added.

He was speaking at the House of Bread Deliverance Church International.
