Kidero gives County officers 3 days to clear Nairobi garbage

Nairobi - Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero has given County officers in-charge of dirt collection 3 days to clear it up as the city continues to choke in garbage.
Kidero gave the order Tuesday after visiting several sites where garbage has not been collected for weeks.
This followed a huge social media campaign ridiculing the Governor and the County government for the state of affairs in the city.
Kidero insisted that unless all garbage in the city is not cleared in 3 days, heads will roll.
" It is a complete disservice to city residents to have the city choking in garbage whilst they pay taxes and rates and the County government has people on payroll to deal with it," he said.
He ordered the office in-charge of environment to deal with the issue urgently or face the consequences.
" We have to deal with it urgently. That is a must. It is an order. I give them three days to deal with it or I take action," he insisted.
Nairobians had started an online petition through social media site Twitter called #Kiderodealwithgarbage to force the Governor to do something about it.
