Kick rebels out of ODM, MPs tell Raila

Nairobi - CORD leader Rail Odinga has been urged by ODM MPs to kick out dissenting MPs from the party.
The MPs, majority from the Coastal region have been openly against the party and even in the recent Malindi by election, campaigned for Jubilee candidate Philip Charo.
The MPs, including Gideon Mung'aro and Talib Mwashetani have also in the past insulted the party leadership saying it is unfit to take over the country.
Thus in the wake of the recent win by the party in Malindi, ODM leaders are asking Raila to officially kick the MPs out of office.
" Those against the party should go. The party should take action. Malindi was the final straw," the leaders led by Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho said.
" We have seen enough, They should go," he added.
The CORD leader is said to not be too keen on discharging the MPs out so as to let the electorate themselves kick them out of office in the 2017 elections which are just over a year away.
But the pressure has risen in the wake of the Malindi polls.
" The party is looking at the case of MPs who campaigned for other parties in recent elections," ODM political affairs chief Opiyo Wandayi said.
Mung'aro has been quoted as asking Raila to kick him out of the party saying he is ready to face the electorate afresh.
