Khalwale: Luhya votes are not for sale to Jubilee

26 July 2016, 12:12 Dennis Omido

Kakamega - Kakamega Senator, Boni Khalwale has said Luhya politicians who are trying to turn Luhyaland into a Jubilee zone will not succeed.

According to Khalwale, Western is still one of CORD’s strongholds and Jubilee will never get support in the region.

Speaking in an interview in Nairobi, Khalwale said Luhya votes are still intact in CORD and are not for sale to Jubilee.

“I want to assure people scouting for votes is Luhyaland that these votes are not for sale. Votes of the Luhya people are at home and are not for sale to Jubilee at a market. These Jubilee operatives’ mission will fail terribly,” Khalwale said.

The Senator added that those claiming to have left CORD made personal decisions and should not pretend to have left with the Luhya people.

“Those who are busy saying that they have left have done so to satisfy their own interests, not the interests of the Luhya community," he added.
