Nairobi - Kakamega Senator Bonny Khalwale has been arrested.
Khalwale was arrested Monday morning at taken to the Kakamega Police station where he is being currently held after taking back in CORD's anti IEBC demonstrations in Kakamega.
" They are holding me," he told News24 on phone.
" I told them the truth. They cannot stop us from protesting. This is not Uganda or Zimbabwe. They can hold me now but the truth prevails and they will be forced to release me," he added.
Officers though, say that he insulted them and spoke using derogatory language to them.
" He insulted Police using unprintable words and his security had an altercation with officers," an officer who asked not to be named told News24.
Khalwale is awaiting charges which according to Police will range from public disturbance to preventing Police from discharging their duties.
