Nairobi - Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has been elected as Ford Kenya’s National Deputy Party Leader, following the defection of Khatib Mwashetani to Jubilee.
The party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) also elected Joy Rubi as its Chair after John Munyes, who previously held the post also defected to Jubilee.
“I thank NEC and Ford Kenya family for electing me today as National Deputy Party Leader. The Late Wamalwa must be happy,” Khalwale said after his election during Ford Kenya NEC meeting at the Nairobi national headquarters.
Khalwale decamped from the United Democratic Forum and joined Ford Kenya early this year where he declared he will battle it out with Governor Wycliffe Oparanya for the governorship the 2017 polls.
