Nairobi - Corruption cartels in the city have made the Nairobi County government to loose over Sh80 Billion, Dagoretti South MP Dennis Waweru has said.
Waweru who has declared interest in the gubernatorial seat currently held by Dr Evans Kidero said the county top position needs a fearless and dedicated individual to clean up the graft mess.
"The massive theft and looting by cartels if left unchecked will lead to collapse of the county. Urgent measures should be put in place to curb the vice, "he said.
Speaking Sunday at a church service at Our Lady of Visitation Catholic Church in Makadara, Waweru said corrupt leadership is the biggest problem facing the county.
"Nairobi needs a break. Next year I will offer my candidature for governorship. If you give me your votes I will focus on dealing with corruption and eradicating cartels that perpetuate the vice, "he said.
