Nairobi - Bodies of Kenya Defence Forces KDF soldiers killed in the Al Adde attack in Somalia have been recalled after a mix-up of those sent to different families, it has emerged.
The family of deceased soldier Kevin Ouma whose body had been released for burial say that the KDF has recalled it only a few days to his burial.
He was due to be buried Friday but the ceremony has been thrown into dissaray after the KDF insisted on fresh DNA testing.
It has emerged that some of the bodies sent to families were returned as families stated that they were the wrong ones.
It is not yet clear whether the ones already buried will be touched in the exercise.
" We were to leave tomorrow (Thursday) but we have been told to go home and wait for fresh DNA. There has been confusion of bodies which is a problem," a family member that wished not to be named told News24.
The soldier is among what is believed to be close to 100 who died in the attack January 15.
So far, the KDF is yet to state an official number of those killed in the attacks.
