Karua chickens out of presidential race, to run for governor

Nairobi - Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua has reportedly opted out of the presidential race in the 2017 elections.
Instead, Karua is considering running for her home county top job according to sources close to the firebrand politician.
Sources who talked to the Star said Karua has been holding discreet meetings in her Kirinyaga county with influential business people as she plots her come back into the political arena.
Karua, described by many as iron lady of Kenyan politics, run for president in 2013 but lost with others to President Uhuru Kenyatta. She emerged 6th.
Efforts by News24 to reach her were futile as she did not respond to messages sent to her phone over the same.
If she decides to run, she will face the incumbent Joseph Ndathi, former Devolution CS Anne Waiguru among others.
