Nairobi - KANU won 130,000 votes in the Kericho by election, the party has said.
Secretary General Nick Salat says that the 50,000 votes won by the party as stated by the IEBC were 80,000 less than they actually won in the polls.
" The IEBC and Jubilee stole 80,000 votes from KANU," he told News24.
Jubilee's Aaron Cheruiyot won the polls as officially announced by the IEBC with 109,000 votes as compared to KANU candidate Paul Sang's 56,000 votes.
Salat says that they found the discrepancy thanks to their own independent vote tally.
The IEBC though says that it will now punish KANU for saying that there was vote rigging without providing any evidence.
"The claims are unsubstantiated. There are correct channels to bring up these issues but they are not taking them," IEBC chairman Ezra Chiloba said Monday.
KANU is mooting taking the case to court.
