Nairobi - KANU has evidence Jubilee Coalition rigged the just ended Kericho by elections, party chief Nick Salat says.
The party lost its bid to have Paul Sang elected Kericho Senator after falling way behind Jubilee's Aaron Cheruiyot in the polls held Monday.
The eventual loss sounded like 108,000 to 53,000, a huge win for the ruling coalition.
Salat though, says that there is evidence and that it will be released Wednesday.
" Poll results do not tally. We will release our own data regarding the by-election on Wednesday," he stated.
" There is evidence collected by our agents. We will also release it on Wednesday," he added.
Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto was of a similar opinion.'
" We are of the view that the results were not a reflection of the will of the people," he told a press conference in Kericho on Tuesday.
" The by-election outcome is a grave indictment of the IEBC. Some polling centres had very wild votes that influenced the outcome."
The Jubilee side though, has dismissed the allegations, saying they are baseless.
" There is nothing to the allegations. They are baseless and desperate," Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen stated.
KANU is free to contest the elections in court thanks to the Constitution.
