Nairobi - A CORD MP says that Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka is the reason he is leaving the coalition.
Joe Mutambo the Mwingi North MP says that the lack of visionary leadership from the former Vice President has lead to the death of the Wiper party in the region as well as ensured lost confidence in the abilities of the opposition to bring change to the country in the longer term.
He stated that Kalonzo had on several occasions failed to lead the Kamba community in the right direction, thus the move by senior leaders in the region to boycott Kalonzo.
" This region bleeds for good and strong leadership, which is not the case at the moment," he told News24 on phone.
He called on the region to back the Jubilee Coalition to execute development in the region.
" The Jubilee Coalition has shown that it is a friend to the community and must be backed come the 2017 polls," he added.
He insisted that there would be more and more defections from CORD in the coming months as a result of Kalonzo's misdemeanours.
" There will be more and more defections from Wiper as we move closer to the 2017 elections," he added.
Over 6 MPs from the region have so far defected to the Jubilee Coalition, ahead of the polls, calling it a clamour for change in the region.
