Nairobi - Kalonzo Musyoka is past his sell by date, A CORD Governor has stated.
Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua said during the visit by President Uhuru Kenyatta to his backyard Friday that Kalonzo had been overtaken by events and that the people of the Ukambani region should chart a different political path.
In open defiance to the CORD co-principal, Mutua stated that it was time for the people of the region to seek an alternative to their current leadership after years of lack of growth and development.
" We are asking that we leave behind those who have been overtaken by the times. We deserve better as people and our current leaders have shown that they cannot take us forward," he said.
He thanked President Uhuru Kenyatta for visiting the region and asked him to continue building the ongoing friendship with the Kamba people that will ensure growth and stability.
" We thank your excellency for visiting and ask that you come back again," he added.
Kalonzo has been locked out of the tour to the region, claiming that he was not invited by the President and his team.
