Jubilee will lose Nairobi governorship, Jubilee Senator says

25 August 2016, 11:29 Jackson Okata

Nairobi - Nairobi Senator, Mike Mbuvi Sonko has said that he is the only person capable of defeating incumbent Governor, Evans Kidero in the race for the Nairobi governorship in 2017.

Sonko says that Jubilee will lose should they fail to nominate him to run for governorship on the party’s ticket.

He said that his opponents within the Jubilee coalition cannot match Kidero’s competition and will lose should they vie against the incumbent ODM Governor.

Speaking Thursday morning in an interview at a local radio station, Sonko said that no amount of force will push him out of the gubernatorial race but insisted that he is in the race to the end.

He said that he will use all possible avenues to ensure that he is on the ballot and that he becomes Nairobi’s next Governor.

“I want to make it clear that I am the only person who has the guts to beat Kidero in the race and if Jubilee wants to win the Nairobi governorship then they should nominate me as their flag bearer. Otherwise they are bound to lose. My opponents within Jubilee will be a walk over for Kidero,” said Sonko.

“No amount of force from anybody will drive me out of the race and I will use all available avenues to ensure that am on the ballot in 2017 because after all the final decision will be with the people of Nairobi and not any party or some individuals,” he said.

He called on his opponents within Jubilee to quit the race and let him battle it out with Kidero.
