Jubilee to sponsor Koskei, Ngilu, Lenku for governorship in 2017

25 January 2016, 09:46 Jackson Okata

Nakuru - Three former cabinet secretaries who were victims of the 2015 corruption axe have the blessings of President Kenyatta to vie for governorship in 2017, an MP has said.

Former Internal Security CS Joseph Ole Lenku, Felix Koskei (Agriculture) and Charity Ngilu (Land) will be fronted by Jubilee to vie for Kajiado, Nandi and Kitui governorship respectively.

Kuresoi north MP, Moses Cheboi said that the Jubilee party will sponsor the three and help them win the seats in 2017.

Speaking Sunday in Kuresoi town, Cheboi said the President and his deputy have given the three their blessings to contest in 2017 under the Jubilee party.

"The President and his deputy want to keep the former CS's on their side and that is why they will support some of them to contest for top seats in the upcoming poll," said Cheboi.

"The likes of Ngilu, Koskei and Lenku will be governors and you have seen them make their intentions public," he added.

Cheboi said that President Kenyatta and his deputy intend to front strong and combative candidates for governorship as a way of solidifying their national influence across the nation.
