Jubilee to award Wetang'ula DP's position if he ditches CORD

Nairobi - The Jubilee coalition is planning to use the deputy president’s position in 2022 to lure Bungoma Senator, Moses Wetang'ula into the Jubilee coalition.
According to a member of parliament from Nakuru County who requested anonymity, Jubilee wants Wetang'ula to be deputy President William Ruto’s running mate in 2022.
The MP said that Jubilee wants to bring the Luhya nation into its fold and it can only achieve that by ensuring the populous Bukusu sub-tribe is in Jubilee.
“Wetang'ula has a lot of say in the Bukusu sub-tribe of the Luhya community and we want to use him to bring his people on board and that is why we badly need him in Jubilee,” he said.

“If we can have him on board, then I think Jubilee will have the desired national outlook,” he added.
He said that Amani National Congress leader, Musalia Mudavadi has proven difficult and that Jubilee has decided to pursue Wetang'ula.
“He will be given the DP’s position in 2022 and I doubt he can really resist that offer considering how he is being treated in the CORD coalition,” he said.
Wetang'ula has in the recent past been showing his discomfort in the Cord coalition and speculation is rife that he might be on his way out.
