Jubilee rebellion forces Ruto into plan B

Nairobi - DP William Ruto is facing rebellion in his Rift Valley home turf. But he has a plan B.
The DP and his Jubilee Coalition are facing stiff competition from firmer ruling party KANU, with his Kalenjin tribesmen underwhelmed by the lack of development in the region during the current regime.
That has seen a number of key Jubilee allies jump ship to KANU, especially for the upcoming Kericho by election, with the move by Ruto's close friend Oscar Sudi to join the train having left him shocked.
Now to the plan B.
Ruto is said to have constituted a team of key Jubilee leaders who will help deal with the situation.
They will help come up with a solution to the problems as well as help the DP calm the brewing storm.
First though, will be to win the Kericho Senate seat which has brought a lot of interest.
" The DP is worried. You have seen him in Kericho a lot in the last few days. You will see him there a lot in the coming weeks," the source at Jubilee HQ told News24.
" There are meetings. Many meetings. This is a big issue that must be solved quickly," the source added.
Ruto has recently been in Kericho where he has pleaded with the people to support Jubilee and admitted mistakes made but to not much effect as he seeks to ensure his backyard is in a good place ahead of the polls.
Whether he will quell the rebellion remains to be seen.
