Jubilee promises Kalonzo Senate Speaker's position

18 April 2016, 09:35 Jackson Okata

Nairobi - As the 2017 general elections approach, political coalitions are in the process of realigning and putting their houses in order.

The Jubilee coalition is working tirelessly to wreck the CORD coalition by fishing out its top leaders and luring them to cross ship.

According to Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka will be given the Senate Speaker's position should he join Jubilee.

Speaking Sunday in Nakuru town, Ngunjiri said that Senate Speaker Ekwe Ethuro will be prevailed upon not to defend his seat after next year's polls to create room for Kalonzo.

"There are so many people that Jubilee is trying to bring on board and soon you will start seeing an exodus of people from other parties to Jubilee," he said.

"We want Kalonzo to join us and become the Senate Speaker and last week you saw the President meet some MPs from Ukambani and that was the start of the process," he added.

Ngunjiri added that so many CORD members of Parliament have shown interest in working with Jubilee and they will be making their stand known soon.

"All those CORD MPs who attended the Afraha rally have told us they want to work with us ahead of 2017 and so many are looking our way and soon the Jubilee house will be indomitable," he said.
