Jubilee prepares to celebrate Ruto ICC release

Nairobi - Tension in the Jubilee Coalition is high ahead of DP William Ruto's date at the Hague.
The DP will learn his fate at the International Criminal Court ICC next week as deliberation over whether his Crimes Against Humanity trial at the court will be dropped continues.
The DP is confident that he will earn his stripes but his confidence is not shared across board.
If the DP is saved, it will mean a game changer for the Coalition. If it is not, it will prolong an issue that has taken nearly four years to deal with.
" If the DP is released, there will be new life for the Jubilee Coalition," Isaac Kipng'etich, a political sciences lecturer told News24.
" The fact is that the DP has been handicapped by the case. If it goes it will be a huge scalp for the DP," he adds.
Close to 100 MPs have expressed interest in taking the DP to the Hague.
His mission to have a motion of non admission of the charges will be known Tuesday 5 April.
" The Jubilee Coalition is waiting to celebrate the verdict. We have seen that there is no evidence so we are confident we will see good news from the Hague," Senate Majority Speaker Kithure Kindiki said.
On his part, Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria was of the opinion that the case would be dropped.
" We have seen that there is nothing to accuse the DP. The charges will be dropped," he added.
