Jubilee official escapes shooting by knocking gunman with car door

Nyeri - Jubilee Alliance Party Nyeri branch chairman, Wambugu Nyamu has claimed that his life is in danger following an attack by armed robbers outside his home in Pembe Tatu Estate in Nyeri town.
Nyamu told journalists that an unknown Town Ace van trailed him from town to his home on Wednesday night.
"I was in company of my friend James Wamae who was driving my car. On reaching my gate, one of the occupants in the other car came out with a gun in his hands,” narrated Nyamu who explained that he did not alight from his car.

“My driver drove past the attacker but did not hit him. He was knocked by my car door and fell. He was not able to shoot,” noted the politician.
He reported the matter to Nyeri Central Police station.
Area OCPD, Charles Rotich said police are investigating the incident.
“We have the registration number of the car and are tracing it. The matter is being investigated,” he said.
