Jubilee MPs bribed to send Waiguru packing, claims Starehe MP

18 November 2015, 09:35 Steve Njuguna

Nairobi - A section of Jubilee MPs have been bribed by the Opposition to send CS Ann Waiguru packing, Starehe MP Maina Kamanda has claimed.

Speaking in Nyahururu town Tuesday, Kamanda said that the MPs were working in cohorts with the opposition to impeach the Devolution CS.

The MP hailed Waiguru for cleaning up major slums in Nairobi and other parts of the country saying this was the genesis of her malicious attacks by the opposition over corruption allegations.

“The CS efforts to clean Kibera slums in Nairobi and slums in Kisumu and engaging the youth in meaningful activities has irked local leaders who fear losing political support,” said kamanda.

He appealed to the leaders to instead support the government in dealing with the challenges facing the country adding that it was unfortunate that despite some cabinet secretaries stepping aside to be investigated over graft allegations, they were yet to be cleared and reinstated, whereas some leaders are calling for the sacking of another CS.

The MP told the opposition to offer solutions in times of crisis instead of castigating the government.

He called on Jubilee leaders to support the Government in tackling the challenges it is going through saying that supporting the opposition was not wise decision.

The Legislator said it was the responsibility of everyone to support the government instead of sitting back and watching when things are going wrong.

Speaking at the same time, Laikipia Governor Joshua Irungu echoed Kamanda’s sentiments and asked Kenyans and leaders to show their confidence with the government.

The Governor called on leaders to demonstrate loyalty to the Jubilee government adding that no foreigner will come for the rescue of the government.
