Jubilee MP to miss Ruto thanksgiving rally
11 April 2016, 20:38
Nairobi - A Jubilee MP says he will not attend the thanksgiving rally for DP William Ruto in Nakuru over the weekend.
Zakayo Cheruiyot of Kuresoi told News24 on phone that he will not be at the rally because he says it defies the spirit of healing and reconciliation for those affected by the 2008 post election violence.
He insists that the rally is not right and should not take place.
" The rally is not right. It kills the spirit of reconciliation that should be upheld at this time when there are those who have yet to get justice. The rally will be about politics and not what matters," he said.
It is likely that another Jubilee MP Alfred Keter of Nandi Hills will also not appear.
Keter stated that the rally was not in good faith and was against it taking place, saying it is an affront on the families and victims of the post election violence.
