Nairobi - A Jubilee Coalition MP says that Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has formed a militia to protect his interests ahead of the 2017 General Elections.
Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wa says that his life is in danger as a result of blowing the whistle on the militia.
He says that he was trailed by men in a taxi on his way home and that a leaflet was also dropped at his gate warning him of dire consequences.
The MP said Kiambu Governor William Kabogo had formed a militia in the
county, through a petition approved by Speaker Justin Muturi and
committed to the National Administration and Security Committee three
He called for extra security.
" My family and myself feel unsafe. We would like extra security," he stated.
The militia, he says, is called Mwangaza and is the replacement of the outlawed Mungiki Sect.
Kabogo has also been accused by Kabete MP Ferdinand Waititu of running cartels that have caused insecurity in the County.
