Jubilee MP quits 2017 race
15 August 2016, 17:14
Nairobi - A Jubilee MP says has said she will not contest the Governorship in the 2017 elections.
Rachel Shebesh who is the Nairobi Women Representative says that she is not keen on running for Governor and says that she will support Water CS Eugene Wamalwa for the seat.
She says that after consideration and consultation, she thinks he is a better candidate.
" I will support Wamalwa for Governor come 2017," she said Sunday in Nairobi.
She argued that Wamalwa would unite Kenyans thanks to his national outlook as a leader.
" He has worked at various high levels in government. Nairobi needs a man of his type to step in and improve the lives of Kenyans," she added.
Wamalwa's candidature has been the main talking point in Jubilee circles in the last three weeks, with insiders of the opinion that he is being unfairly pushed forward by President Uhuru Kenyatta and DP William Ruto.
