Jubilee MP blasts UhuRuto for spending KES 2 Billion on party launch

Nairobi - A member of parliament has lashed out at President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto for the exorbitant amount of money expected to be spent on the launch of the new Jubilee Party.
Kuresoi south MP Zakayo Cheruiyot said that it is selfish for the two to spend a whooping KES 2 billion on the launch of the new party when the money could be directed to more vital national needs.
He said that it is morally wrong for a third world country like Kenya to spend that amount of money on a three day party event while some Kenyans are going without water ,medicine and other essential needs.
Speaking Sunday in Kuresoi, Chjeruiyot at the same time warned the jubilee government against using public funds to launch the new party.
He called on the public to be alert and reject any move by the government to sue public resources during the three day launch of the new party.
“How can as a country spend KES 2 billion to launch a party when the same amount of money can purchase a new radio therapy machine at the Kenyatta national hospital?” he posed.
“Our leaders are very insensitive to the needs of poor Kenyans and that is why they have all the guts of spending that amount of money to launch apolitical party,” he said.
“And let them be warned that we will not allow them to use public resources to launch the new party and Kenyans must be alert and reject such attempts,” said Cheruiyot.
Cheruiyot is among the URP rebel members of parliament who refused to join the new jubilee party.
He has since announced his association with the new mashinani party led by Bomet governor Isaac Ruto.
