Nairobi - Gatundu South MP, Moses Kuria has blasted elected leaders from Mt Kenya region saying they are incompetent and a letdown to President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Kuria has said on many occasions that the leaders including MPs, Senators and members of County Assemblies have failed to support the government when their support is required.
Speaking at Kaitheri village in Kirinyaga County, Kuria said there was a feeling that the leaders were a letdown to the Jubilee government.
He said instead of the leaders coming to the defense of President Uhuru Kenyatta whenever he is under attack from the opposition, they choose to maintain silence.

Kuria said the law makers have in the past failed to go by the President’s guidance on issues that require their input and therefore should be voted out.
The MP also took issue with governors from the region whom he accused of running down their counties “through wanton looting and corruption.”
“Governors from the Jubilee coalition should lead by example by prudently managing resources instead of lamenting that the funds are not enough,” Kuria said.
“You can forgive them for now but come the next general election, please do not vote the current leaders again,” he urged.
Kuria who is facing several charges of hate speech in court said he felt left alone in his endeavor to protect and shield the government from unnecessary attacks by the opposition.
He said he was disappointed that instead of the Jubilee lawmakers coming to his defense when he was arrested recently on allegations of hate speech, the leaders joined with opposition to discredit him.
