Jubilee MP accuses DP Ruto of failing to protect him

Nairobi - A Jubilee Party MP from the Rift Valley has accused DP William Ruto of failing to protect him.
Oscar Sudi the Kapseret MP says that the DP betrayed the Kalenjin people by not protecting MPs and Governors who protested the appointment of Laban Ayiro as the new Moi University Vice Chancellor.
He says that those leaders were looking out for the interests of the Kalenjin people and must be lauded.
" What was said was the truth. The second candidate had better qualifications and was robbed of his position," he told News24.
The MP together with the other leaders have since been accused of hate speech and ordered to record statements at the Police.
All the leaders are supporters of DP Ruto and have pledged to be behind his re-election come the 2017 elections.
The DP however criticised their actions, terming them callous.
" Kenya is a democratic state that must be governed by rules. If the best candidate won, so be it. We cannot cause chaos because our candidate did not," the DP stated.
Governors Jackson Mandago (Uasin Gishu) and Alex Tolgos (Elgeyo Marakwet) together with MPs Sudi, Alfred Keter (Nandi Hills), James Bett (Kesses) and Tiren Silas (Moiben) have also been asked to record statements.
