Jubilee leaders celebrate Okoa Kenya demise

Nairobi - Jubilee Majority Leader Aden Duale has celebrated the demise of the Okoa Kenya referendum, calling it a waste of time.
The Garissa Town MP, speaking Wednesday says that the referendum was a ploy by the opposition to destabilize the country ahead of the 2017 polls.
And in any case, he accused the opposition of lying about the number of signatures they had collected.
" The referendum has died as stated by the IEBC and it is no surprise that it has," he said.
" The opposition should actually be put to task for lying to Kenyans that it has collected that many signatures," he added.
The sentiments were shared by upcoming Jubilee leader in central Kenya Ngunjiri Wambugu.
" CORD said it had collected 1.3 million signatures. This means that the process was a fraud if the IEBC says only 850,000 were legitimate. Fraud," he added.
The opposition has accused the Jubilee Coalition of using the IEBC to deny the Okoa Kenya campaign its due merit.
They have accused Duale and nominated MP Johnstone Sakaja of deleting bona fide signatures.
