Jubilee defectors face by elections as ODM plans expulsions

Nairobi - MPs that have defected from the CORD Coalition to Jubilee face by elections after ODM started proceedings to eject them from the party so as to face by elections.
The ODM disciplinary committee recommends expulsion of 13 defectors from the party, including 10 MPs and two governors.
The move was announced Tuesday in Nairobi.
" The move will see only bonafide members remain in the party. Those that have chosen to join other parties cannot use ODM's name to conduct their business and they have moved. They must go back to the electorate and decide," ODM chairman John Mbadi stated.
The 13 were seen at the launch of the new Jubilee Party two weeks ago and were named as persons who have quit the party top join the ruling wing.
" They have chosen to go elsewhere. This means they must go back to the electorate and ask for a fresh mandate," he added.
The 13 include 6 MPs from the Coast, some from Nairobi and Rift Valley as well as Governors from the Coast.
