Mombasa - Mombasa Governor, Hassan Joho has said he will lead Raila campaigns ‘even in Central’ to make sure that the opposition leader wins the presidency in 2017.
Central Kenya is President Uhuru Kenyatta’s backyard.
Speaking on Sunday during an ODM rally in Mathare, Joho said he will camp at Uhuru’s region to marshall support for his favourite candidate.

“I will take this campaign to Murang’a in Central and camp there until Raila wins in 2017. They (Jubilee) should know we will go to every region,” Joho said.
Kenyan politics are highly ethnic and aspirants only get a handful of votes from their competitors' regions.
In Kenya, ethnicity remains a powerful political weapon used for mobilisation.
As such, it will be interesting to see how much votes President Kenyatta can harvest from Raila’s backyard and vice versa.
