Nairobi - Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology JKUAT students are on the rampage along Thika Super Highway protesting the death of one of their own.
The students blocked the Thika Super Highway in their protests, causing a massive traffic jam that went kilometres.
It is alleged that the students are protesting the death of male student at college dispensary after alleged food poisoning.
The student died Wednesday afternoon, according to reports.
" There is a sinister motive to the death. He was poisoned and we are going to get to the bottom of this," News24 was told via a text message from one of the students who asked not to be named.
The institution did not comment on the matter, saying it was investigating before releasing a statement.
Kiambu police boss Stephen Ngetich told News24 that Police were doing their best to kill off the strike and allow normal movement of traffic.
