Nairobi - Hate speech MPs should be jailed with immediate effect, a Jubilee Governor says.
Kiambu Governor William Kabogo says that hate speech should not be condoned and stated that especially in Kiambu, those who are looking to divide people should not be tolerated.
In an attempt to shed light on Kabete MP Ferdinand Waititu who is Kabogo's rival, he said that Kiambu is home to many people of different orientations who love peace and co-exist in a peaceful manner and those that try to kill that spirit must be punished.
" Kiambu is home to many people for many years. Those trying to change that are not welcome here," he said.
Waititu is among 8 MPs who are facing serious hate speech charges in court.
They have been in Police custody the last four days and are in court seeking bail.
