Nairobi - Isiolo governor Godana Doyo and his Garissa counterpart Nathif Jama will lead a delegation of political leaders from the two counties to find peace between two fighting communities living along the border of the two counties.
The two governors are expected to be joined by MPs, MCAs, security teams, clan elders and religious leaders in the mediation talks to end fighting between the warring pastoralists’ communities that has so far claimed five lives.
The affected villages include Tana, Barambati and Makadakal where hundreds of families have fled the area.
The venue of the meeting will be in one of the villages.
Foodstuffs were distributed to 78 families that are among those displaced in the clashes and camping at Banane shopping centre.
Speaking while distributing the assorted food items including sugar, rice, drinking water, wheat flour, maize flour, cooking oil among other items, the head of the delegation Abdullahi Omar said the number of displaced families was increasing by the day
